Recently I was asked by someone if I could reccomend a company that does accurate domain appraisals. The answer was quite simple and it was NO. Some companies will tell you that they have a domain for sale at a wonderful low price and then back it up by saying that they even have an appraisal that was done. This is great but 9 out of 10 times with the way domains are now being developed, the appraisal of a domain is far from accurate.
For instance, I have all of my clients using the ireporter publishing tool. This tool has built in SEO. Any domain name put into development using this tool has a chance to exponentially grow in value, singnificant value. Take into consideration clarity of the name, memorability, length and numerals and you can get a free appraisal done on swift appraisal. However with blog platforms and online communites growing rapidly, a domain is best developed by using a publishing tool. Ireporter is the best one out there. Now one must take into consideration the tool itself. How much bloggers were paid to put content on, how much traffic it gets and if it has any page rank. There are to many variables to get an accurate appraisal of any domain. Most value comes from the personal opinion of the potential buyer. Bottom line is, numbers do not lie and traffic, content and page rank play a major role in the value of a domain.
Some companies offering you a chance to make money from home will try to sell you an affiliate package using free tools offered by other companies not affilated with them. BE CAREFUL. Chances are they will be shut down as soon as they are found out. As far as legitimate affiliate offered programs go, I don't like them. That's right, I mark mearin do not like them one bit. When I put a domain name into production my main focus is monetizing it big time. I take domain investing very seriously and believe in getting advertisers on fully developed domains. It takes time but once you hit the top pages then the fun begins. Ask yourself this. Would you like to have a developed domain name that had a bunch of affiliate banner ads on it? Chances are that at first you get minimal traffic. Most affiliates offer 8 - 10% commission. So if you get 100 hits a day on your domain and 2 people buy then if you are lucky you may make 20 bucks. On top of that, your bounce rate suffers, your avg. time on blog suffers and you just watched a unique visitor enter and leave your site in an instant in order for you to make a few dollars. THIS DOES NOT EXCITE ME.
What you do is develop your domain name. Increase the value with the 3 magic ingrediants, content, page rank and traffic. Then once you hit your mark seek out natioanl advertisers NOT AFFILIATES. And instead of having an affiliate pay you pennies for a sale from these comapnies, get these national companies to advertise directly with YOU on your blog. It is not complicated. People just get so overwhelmed and complicate things. A domain name is a beautiful thing when developed and marketed properly and domain investing is putting people in retirement at very early ages.
